2024 Women & Girls Breakfast Wrap-Up
At Play Like a Girl, we were honored to be part of Hockey Victoria's 12th annual Women & Girls Breakfast, held at the St Kilda Town Hall. This event was a tremendous success, bringing together guests for a unique and creative experience.
The MC for the event, Holly Bailey from Play Like a Girl Australia, set the tone for the morning with passion and energy. The morning began with a creative painting session led by Kieren Trainor from Hills & Spills, Sip & Paint. Guests embraced their inner artists as they explored the theme "Who are you in sport?" and added words and phrases to a collective canvas, sharing their passions and inspirations.
Following the artistic activity, AFLW player and BCNA Ambassador Sophie Locke was interviewed by Holly. Sophie shared her personal story and experiences with breast cancer and the loss of her beautiful Mum.
Guests were also encouraged to participate on stage, contributing to Kieren's canvas and collectively expressing their dedication to sport and community.
The event concluded with remarks from Tracey Drake, the first female HV Chair of the Board, who discussed Hockey Victoria's ongoing efforts to promote gender equality in sports. The breakfast wrapped up with a successful raffle, raising funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), our key partner for the event.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event possible:
